This morning we had our first official assembly of the session to introduce our admin team and faculty, and help new students adjust to their new setting here at Harvard. Our session 1 students could not be more welcoming and eager to get to know everyone who just arrived! Students are now off to their first day of new classes!
Today we welcomed our new students! Our Session 1 students had a fun filled day exploring Newbury Street and then enjoyed a water balloon fight! Some of our students also went ice skating to cool off! In the evening, everyone got to know each other during Trivia Night, and then met the staff during our first assembly. We are looking forward to an exciting week with all of our students!
Welcome Session 2 students! When you arrive here, we will check you in and help you get settled. Starting at 2pm, our Activities Directors will be leading tours around Harvard’s campus and Harvard Square. We are so excited to meet you!
Last night, we wrapped up Session 1 with a sunset cruise on the Boston Harbor. We were able to see tons of Boston landmarks while getting to learn a bit about them. We heard stories about Castle Island and George’s Island, passed by newer buildings in Boston’s growing Seaport district like the Reebok headquarters, and also caught a glimpse of many historical sights. Those included the U.S.S. Constitution, and the Old North Church where the famous “one if by land, two if by sea” signal was given to Paul Revere during the American Revolution. We had perfect weather & a great night on the water with everyone!
Last night some students visited the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. The museum has over 400,000 works of art and is the fifth largest museum in the country. Students were able to participate in a scavenger hunt to find specific pieces.
While some of the students visited the MFA, another group chose to attend an improv show at ImprovBoston. The performers did a great job and were able to make everyone laugh. It was a great time!
