‘As Merry As the Day is Long’

Today students in the Psychology class made the most of the weather by sitting out in the garden, and delving into the unconscious mind (applying Freudian theory to Miley Cyrus’s music videos). Business students had a presentation at Oxford’s largest bookshop Blackwell’s, and Law students provocatively argued that ‘natural law’ does not exist, because if law is socially constructed, the process is no longer ‘natural’.

Following classes, students took part in a number of activities, including an introduction to cricket, which was led in University Parks, and punting on the River Cherwell, which proved highly popular (reports suggest no one was left clinging to a pole in the middle of the river in time-honoured Oxford fashion!).  Later in the evening students attended a performance of Much Ado About Nothing in Wadham College Garden, whilst others enjoyed ‘Early English Music by Candlelight’, a concert in the picturesque setting of nearby Exeter College Chapel. Looking forward to another day here in Oxford!
