Recapping Monday and Tuesday: A Two-in-One-Special

After the monstrous four-post-fest of Sunday, the OxPrep bloggers fingers were about to fall off! Thus we send apologies for not having an update of the Programs’ goings on. But have no fear, we are back in action!

Monday saw our tremendous teachers back in action, heading up both the majors and minors – they are all busily preparing for the final few lessons that will lead up to the projects and presentations.

Meanwhile, Drama continued their rehearsals for Twelfth Night, Medical Science welcomed a guest speaker, and others took advantage of sunny spaces and cool places.

After the classes, the Preppers were treated to an OxPrep favorite presentation – Magnus and the Medieval Weaponry display! Each year that Magnus comes, he never fails to impress with the wide variety of tools of war he brings for the Preppers to enjoy… and some are even allowed to be tried!

Today, being Tuesday, was a very special day – MAJOR MIXER! Major mixer is an opportunity for the students to have a little taste of two other major courses on offer. The teachers are always at their absolute best, as they pick their favorite lesson or course highlight, to create a feeling of “Oh, I wish I had signed up for their course!” in the Preppers.

In the afternoon, there were a myriad of activities for the Preppers to choose from. Firstly, a guest speaker, Karl Steyaert, speaking about making the most of “This Wild and Wonderful Life” we are given.  Additionally, there was another session of fencing for those who were unable to attend the first go-round. There was a tour of Magdalene College and it’s beautiful grounds (including a deer park).  The evening played host to a Ceilidh, a traditional Scottish (or Irish) dance and celebration, and a trip to a concert featuring the music of Bach. And there were many folding papers as students made beautiful

Since it was a Tuesday, we held our regular assembly, and with the renewed sunshine, a second Program photo was taken!

Tomorrow we are back to our regular Major and Minor classes, and we will be getting ready to go on our field trip on Thursday!
