Reporters and Rock ‘n Roll

Tonight, Oxbridge welcomed Suzanne Lynch as the final guest speaker for the program. Suzanne Lynch is a journalist with The Irish Times based in Washington, D.C. Prior to this, she worked as a business reporter with RTE radio and worked on various programs including Morning Ireland and Drivetime. She also worked as an arts journalist for a number of years in Ireland and the UK. A journalist with wide-ranging interests, she has written for The London Independent on education issues, with a particular interest in the interplay between academia and industry.  She has also been involved in policy work for the Labour Party and Fine Gael in the past. Lynch had a great deal to say regarding the current political climate in the United States and her role in policy as a journalist. Students were certainly fascinated as we discussed the often blurred lines between the truth and bias portrayed in our every day news and media.

Later, students were treated to a nice dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, in downtown Boston. They sat with their respective houses, enjoyed some tunes, and caught up with each other as another week at Oxbridge soon comes to a close.
