‘Shakespeare from the Page to the Stage’

On Tuesday we had the pleasure of having Nick Hutchison, a renowned actor and director, as our guest speaker. An expert on the Bard of Avon, Nick engaged our students in a lively and enlightening workshop on Shakespeare’s process and performance. Students were immersed in this experiential learning, volunteered for impromptu roles and asked fantastic questions at the end of this animated talk.

“Nick Hutcherson incorporated a mixture of humour and intelligence surrounding the different aspects of Shakespeare. Many of the engaging activities displayed a side of Shakespeare, and his effect on the world and language as we know it. I believe that his lecture is definitely a must see for any who want to gain a wider and deeper I understanding of Shakespeare.” – Lauren Shallow (Creative Writing Major, English Literature Minor)

“Nick engaged with the crowd so much and that made it super interesting. I really liked all the facts that were taught to us. It expanded my mind on Shakespeare and the all plays that he was involved in. It was a really great lecture and I hope to see him again in college.” – Nizette Dugue (Creative Writing Major, Medicine and the Brain Minor)
