Outside of classes, our dedicated team of Activities Directors keep students entertained with sporting, cultural, and sightseeing events. These activities will be documented by our blog, and by the @oxtradactivities2017 Instagram account. The activities directors also produce The Gargoyle, our daily newsletter. They are currently squirrelled away in their office, but had just enough time to give us an idea of what they get up to when they’re not perfecting the Oxford Tradition’s timetable!
Mia studies Chemistry at St Hugh’s college, and is known for being the best St Hugh’s Boat Club Women’s Captain in living memory. Her favourite thing to do in Oxford is to walk down the river at Boathouse Island.
Tim studies History at St John’s college. He earned a group Guinness World Record for doing the most mouth pops in an allocated time. Ask him for a demonstration. Tim highly recommends a visit to Zheng Restaurant for excellent modern Chinese food.
Freddy also studies History, but at Trinity college. It’s a good thing that Oxford students cycle in term-time, because he crashed his car in his first driving lesson. If you find the time, Freddy suggests climbing to the top of the Oxford Castle mound – first built in 1073!
Fiona (Mac) studies Psychology, Philosophy, and Linguistics at Christchurch college. They play as goalie in Varsity Ice Hockey, and are secretly Australian. Their favourite place has to be the Formosan Tea Bar, and will gladly take any incomplete loyalty cards at the end of the programme.
