Recently, the Classical Civilization major visited the the ‘Storms, War and Shipwrecks’ special exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum. The exhibition is about importance of Sicily in from the Bronze Age to the Medieval period. They were treated to a private tour of the exhibition by the curator, Dr Alexandra Sofroniew. Students learned not only about the many populations that have inhabited Sicily over the centuries but also analysed the narrative techniques used in the exhibition design. The Ashmolean is a world-class museum, and we are incredibly lucky to be so closely located to it!
