Mark Lynas on “Anti-Science”

Yesterday afternoon all of our students had the opportunity to attend Mark Lynas’ talk entitled, “Anti-Science – The need for critical thinking on pressing issues: from nuclear power to climate change and genetically modified crops”.  Mark regularly addresses audiences around the world on topics such as climate change, biotechnology and nuclear energy, and from 2009 to 2011 he advised the President of the Maldives on responding to global warming. A Visiting Fellow at Cornell University’s Office of International Programs at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, he is naturally an ardent defender of scientific value and truth, and was thus a truly valuable speaker for our students–helping to open their eyes to many different examples of misinformation by the media.
