Hi parents! The students have had a jam-packed day today, filled with a huge range of different activities.
In the morning, the students had their major and minor classes. The molecular biology and medical science classes had a particularly interesting lesson today, where they were given a chance to take part in a practical activity to extract DNA from raspberries!
In the afternoon, students had the opportunity to take part in some kayaking on the River Cam. Some of them were trying it for the first time, and everyone had an amazing time! Although it rained while they kayaked, the students didn’t let this ruin their fun.
There was also a chance given to have a tour around Great St Mary’s Church. This Church is on King’s Parade, and its tower offers great views of the city!
In the evening, activities took a more dramatic turn. The Cambridge theatre scene is continuously thriving, with a huge number of amateur and professional dramatic groups airing shows throughout the year. This evening the students had an opportunity to experience this with an open air performance of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night”, in the beautiful gardens of Downing College.
