Art History at Modern Art Oxford!

After discussing theories of aesthetic response and reception in the classroom, the Art History Major visited Modern Art Oxford to view an exhibition of conceptual contemporary art. During the visit, the students were challenged to reflect critically on why they responded positively or negatively–or neutrally!–to the artworks on view. Many lively debates about the nature of art ensued. Pictured are works of  installation and sculpture by Dorothy Cross, wall drawings by Sol LeWitt, and videos by Dan Graham.
