Broughton Castle

Students from Archeology, Architecture, British History, Creative Writing, Drama, English Literature, Journalism, Photography and Art History had the opportunity to visit Broughton Castle today. The central part of the house dates from 1306, although its exterior now dates from the 1550s. It has been in the Fiennes family since 1447 and has featured in many film productions–including, to name a few, the BBC adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall, Three Men and a Little Lady, The Scarlet Pimpernel and Shakespeare in Love.
