George Agyapong – Medicine Minor
George is a medical student at Harvard Medical School. He grew up in Ghana, West Africa, where he studied Pharmacy at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Prior to medical school, George obtained his Master’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass Lowell). His research work during and after graduate school included medical device and antimicrobial drug research and development. Outside the classroom, George serves in the US Army Reserves as a Healthcare Sergeant (Combat Medic), and he enjoys singing and leading choral music in his church choir.
John Chipman – Computer Science
Originally from Utah, I’ve spent most of the last decade in the Bay Area — going to UC Berkeley for my undergraduate degree and now Stanford for my PhD. While I’ll be teaching computer science this summer and much of my academic interest lies in similarly technical pursuits, I actually spend most of my free time in more “humanistic” activities like reading literature, watching films, etc…
Holger Droessler – Speech & Debate
Holger Droessler is a College Fellow in U.S. History at Harvard University. He received his Ph.D. in the History of American Civilization at Harvard in 2015. In his dissertation, he explored the crucial role of workers in the making of empire in Samoa. Before coming to Harvard, he studied North American Cultural History, American Literature, and Political Science at the University of Munich (M.A., 2008). He was born in Augsburg, Germany.
Danya Goodman – Neuropsychology
Dr. Goodman grew up in Boston and earned her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College. She completed both her PhD in clinical psychology and her MFA in creative writing at the University of Kansas. She loves the city in the summertime, especially farmers markets and outdoor festivals.
Robert Koch – Medicine Major
I am a practicing medical oncologist and hematologist with experiences in clinical practice, academics, laboratory and clinical research, the pharmaceutical industry, education and business. I have held positions in the United States, New Zealand and Ireland. I graduated with the MD and PhD degrees from Case Western Reserve and did my fellowship training at UCLA. I earned an MBA from the University of South Florida and have served on many Boards of Trustees and in many medical leadership positions.
David Pena – International Law
I am an International lawyer specialized in Criminal Law. I was born in a small town in the middle of Mexico called Irapuato, Guanajuato. I went to law school in Guadalajara –Universidad Panamericana– and have practiced criminal law since 2002. I worked in the United Nations’ International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in the stand by defense team of Dr. Radovan Karadzic and I have masters degree in international law from The Fletcher School, Tufts University. Currently I live in Mexico city, surrounded by books, with my wife –Alejandra– and my dog “Lex”; my current practice is specialized in criminal litigation and extradition proceedings. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking and listening to Jazz.
Karen Robbins – American History
Karen Robbins is a graduate of the American & New England Studies program at Boston University, where she focused on American architectural history, material culture, and women’s history in the 19th and early 20th centuries. She has a BA from Vassar College in Urban Studies and an MArH from the University of Virginia with a concentration in American architecture. Karen currently teaches at Boston University in the writing program where she focuses her courses on gender, cultural history, and the built environment. Her most recent course is a hands-on seminar where students engage with their surroundings through archival and primary-source research culminating in a term paper and public forum.
Kyle Rhorich – Government & Politics
Originally from rural Nebraska, Kyle received his Masters in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from Nebraska Wesleyan University. Kyle began his professional career in national and state politics, working for U.S. Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska and serving in state leadership positions in Nebraska politics. Since, he has expanded his focus to foreign policy, working for the U.S. Department of State as well as studying and working in countries including Spain, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Azerbaijan, and Russia. In September, Kyle will begin his career in diplomacy as a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. Department of State.
