Fashion and International Relations go to the Louis Vuitton Foundation

On Monday morning, Virgile’s International Relations class and Pauline’s Fashion class visited the brand-new Louis Vuitton Foundation. The Fondation Louis Vuitton is not a Louis Vuitton store. It is contemporary art museum, theater, concert space, and cultural venue that opened in the Bois de Boulogne just over six months ago, and a key update to Paris’s museum scene. The building itself was designed by Frank Gehry. It is, as many of Gehry’s buildings are, absolutely stunning. Some have compared its shape to the scales of a fish and to an iceberg. It was financed by Bernard Arnault, the current CEO of LVMH and also the richest man in France. You can tell by the students’ faces in the photos below that the FLV is an astonishing spot to visit!
