This afternoon our students were able to attend a talk entitled ‘Was Churchill really THAT great?’ given by Dr Christopher Catherwood. Dr Catherwood is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, based in Cambridge. The author of many books on 20th century history, he is also an examiner for the national GCSE exam (for 16 year olds) in British history.
Following his talk the students were able to ask Dr Catherwood a number of questions and learnt that there was great deal more to the man than we might assume. This was a fascinating exploration of one of British history’s most complicated characters.
